Chapter Six: Toy Boy

So, in a wishacy, once your founder/heir has accumulated 50,000 life time reward points, you get a free day, 24 sim hours where you can have them do things without wishing for it. I waited until I had about 60,000, because although I'm playing normal life span, I tweaked the sliders a bit to add a few extra days onto each life stage.

Before we start, here's Hadley with his new adult look that I forgot to put in the last chapter. Like?

This chapter will be written in a conversation style between me and Hadley. If you don't like it, don't worry, the next chapter will be back to normal.

Chapter Six: Toy Boy

‘Hadley! Wake up, you have to get dressed before Kate gets here.’
‘Huh? Oh, you again.’
‘Courtney.’
‘Right, Courtney, why are you talking to me again?’
‘Because I have one day to help you steer your life in the right direction. I know you haven’t really thought about kids, but today I’m going to help you have children, to carry on your legacy.’
‘Uh, okay. This better not interfere with my career.’
‘Well, it will, but you’re very close to achieving you lifetime wish, so I’m not worried about that.’
‘I’m up now.’
‘I can see that.’
‘What!? You can see me?’
‘It’s best if you don’t ask too many questions. Hey, I think you should call Kate. She’s not here yet. Maybe now that Karen’s moved out she’s not the maid anymore.’
‘That’d suck.’
‘Ask her out on a date to Maywood Glen.’

‘She said she’d love to.’
‘Excellent, now put on one of your nice leather jackets you never wear.’
‘Why?’
‘Because you’re going to go propose to her.’
‘What? Hang on, you were talking about having kids. You said nothing about getting married.’
‘True. But I’d like to marry you today. Then we’ll get to the kids part.’
*
‘Okay, I’m here. Do I just propose straight away?’
‘No, get her in a good mood first. Lots of romantic stuff.’
‘I can do that.’
‘I know you can.’

‘Okay, propose now?’
‘Yep, go for it.’
‘Wait! I can’t do this. Kaelie’s standing right there.’
‘She’s been there the whole time. Are you telling me you just saw her now?’
‘Yes.’
‘Just do it. You and Kaelie are over.’
‘But I still care about her. I don’t want to hurt her feelings.’
‘That’s sweet, but we’re on the clock here. You don’t have time to go anywhere else.’
‘Fine.’

‘She said yes!’
‘Of course she did. And look, Kaelie’s smiling. She’s happy for you.’
‘Thank God.’

‘Now, take your fiance to lunch at the Bistro.’
‘Why?’
‘Because you’re hungry, and I want you guys in your formal clothes for the wedding.’
*
‘We’re finished lunch. Where to now?’
‘Take her to the beach. Not the public one, the secluded one.’

‘Got it. We’re not having a big wedding party?’
‘No time, sorry.’
‘That’s okay. I don’t really want a wedding party anyway. But I do kind of want to marry Kate, now we’re engaged.’
‘It’s about time. Now, once you’ve finished climbing down all those rocks and things, you can go ahead and exchange rings.’

‘Did I do okay?’
‘Beautiful. Now quick, get home and get on with the baby making.’
*

‘Courtney? You still there?’
‘Yeah, I’m just checking out Kate’s traits. She’s brave, charismatic, kleptomaniac, and neat. The fifth trait must be the hidden maid trait. Did you know her favourite colour is red?
‘I did, actually.’
‘Holy crap!’
‘What is it? Don’t distract me, the art of foreplay is a precise one.’
‘Kate’s elder birthday is tomorrow!’
‘Yeah, so?’
‘So, she can’t get pregnant if she’s an elder! Damn, I’m gonna have to adopt you a kid.’
‘Well, I’m going to go ahead and try for a baby anyway.’

‘You do that. I’m going to google it.’
‘You what now?’
‘I’m back, she can still get pregnant now. Oh yes! There goes the chime!’
‘I didn’t hear anything.’
‘Now try for a baby again.’
Again?’

‘I heard the chime, but I’m paranoid. This is her last chance to get pregnant, do it again to make sure.’
‘Finished. Wow, I’m tired. You still here Courtney?’
‘Yes. I’m just debating whether to adopt you a kid before I hand the reins back to you. No, it’s alright, I heard the chime. She’s pregnant. Okay, good luck Hadley!’

‘Thanks. I’m going to sleep now.’

So that made for intriguing gameplay, if nothing else! It's lucky I didn't wait any longer for the free day. Talk about leaving things till the last minute! I hope this chapter is not confusing or anything, sometimes when I write stuff it makes perfect sense to me but not anyone else. So just ask if you're confused or whatever :)

Here's Kate with a makeover. Couldn't wait to get rid of that awful ponytail! She's quite pretty, actually. Lovely blue eyes. Oh, and you can't really see it with this hairstyle but she has these strange yellow roots. I changed them later to the same brown as the rest of her hair. I don't normally mess with hair colours but I made an executive decision with this one :)

Until next time,

xx Courtney.

Chapter Five: Kate

Chapter Five: Kate
So. Shortly after Matt’s party, I invited Kate over and we decided to go to the diner around the corner for a bite to eat.

Somewhere between her arriving at the house and us sitting down to eat, it was feeling more like a date than anything else. Maybe I was more flirty in nature than I thought. Yeah, I know I’d set myself that no dating rule, but that was a while ago. Now that I was the backup vocalist of Tainted Soul, I was feeling more confident about my career. Anyway, we caught a movie after we ate. I’ll admit there was a little bit of flirting outside the theatre. Just a bit.

I found Kate cleaning the kitchen the next morning.

‘Tired?’ I said by way of greeting.
She poked me in the arm, laughing. ‘Did you just wake up?’
‘Maybe.’
She laughed again. ‘Actually, I’m not tired. I went to sleep as soon as I got home.’
‘Sleep’s boring. I much prefer to roam the house, guitar in hand.’
Kate just shook her head at me as she continued to wipe the bench.
‘Anyway, I think we should hang out today. Just us.’
‘There’s a slight problem with that,’ she said as she carried the dirty dishes over to the sink. ‘I’m not finished cleaning your house yet.’
‘What’s left, making Matt’s bed and taking the trash out? It’s not like the place is ever that messy. I’ll still pay you.’
Kate bit her lip, then threw her hands up in the air. ‘Okay, okay. I do want to hang out with you. But I don’t have any clothes to change into.’
‘Even better. I really like that cute little uniform.’
We grabbed lunch at the Bistro, then walked across the road to the park.

We hung out there all afternoon. I tried to show her how to fish, but she got bored pretty quickly, so I played guitar for her instead. She liked that.

After I put the guitar away, we talked and laughed about anything and everything.

 Then, I kissed her goodbye.

It was a bit hard for Kate and I to keep our hands off each other after that, what with us both being in the house during the day. Karen caught on pretty quickly, since she was normally home during the day too, and it wasn’t like we were being quiet about it. I could tell she was a bit annoyed at us both, but what was I supposed to do? We were over, I’d explained that to her.

One of the things about Kate I found so endearing was that after we’d emerged from my bedroom, she’d run around finishing the cleaning of the house.

I always made sure to kiss her goodbye before I left for work.

One morning, I woke up before Kate got to the house, so I decided to run some errands, collecting money from the local businesses I had a share in. I got chatting to Illaina Langerak at the Bistro and lost track of time, so It was no wonder I sounded a bit apologetic on the phone when I called Kate.

‘I’m sorry! I woke up early for once so I went to run some errands. Did you miss me?’
She laughed. ‘I must say, I was a bit disappointed when you weren’t there. But I’d forgotten how fast your house is to clean when you’re not being interrupted all the time.’
I grinned to myself. ‘So you’re done then?’
‘Yup. I’m at the beach, want to join me?’
‘For sure.’
So I drove down to the beach with a smile on my face. I had something special planned for tonight.

When I got there, I saw Kate silhouetted in the setting sun, staring up wistfully at the houses directly across the street from the beach.
‘I’ve always wanted to buy one of these houses,’ she said as I approached. ‘But I’d never be able to afford it.’
I looked over at the row of houses I’d just driven past. They were pretty cute, really. And you’d get great views.
‘I might buy one,’ I said, grinning at her. ‘You know, they do pay me to get up on stage and sing.’
She punched me lightly on the arm, smiling too. ‘You would do that, just to spite me.’
‘Well, I’d let you come and clean it.’ I took her hands as she stifled her laughter, shaking her head at me. ‘So, what do you want to do tonight? It's my night off.’

She shrugged. ‘I don’t know. Whatever you want to do.’
‘Well, I did have this idea we could go the theatre. Not to see a movie, but I could give you, like, a guided tour.’
She grinned. ‘Sounds great.’
I loved showing Kate my world. I took her to meet the band that was playing tonight, showed her my dressing room, the works. We actually got a little, uh, carried away in the dressing room. Lets just say it’s a good thing I locked the door.
When we emerged into the cool night air in front of the theatre, we were both still a little giggly.
‘I can’t believe I just did that!’ she said, sounding a little breathless.
‘The wild life of dating a member of Tainted Soul,’ I said with a smirk. ‘Which reminds me. I want to ask you something.’
She tilted her head to the side, a half smile on her face. ‘What?’
‘I want it to be just us. I want us to be exclusive, official. I guess I’m saying... I want to call you my girlfriend.’

Kate’s eyes widened, and I felt a knot of uncertainty form in my stomach. ‘Unless - you don’t want to?’
She shook he head. ‘No - I want to, I’m just trying to figure out why you want to,’ I started to speak, but she held up her hand. ‘I mean - I’m older than you. And - I know I’m getting ahead of myself here, I know we haven’t discussed this, but I might not be able to have children, Hadley. I just thought you should know.’
I stared at her. ‘You’re right, I haven’t given a thought to kids, or anything. But what I know is that I want you, and I don’t care that you’re older than me. I’ve never cared. And if you can’t have kids - well, we’ll get to that when we come to it. Okay? But I don’t want anyone else. Because I love you.’
She threw her arms around me, and I closed my eyes, lyrics already forming in my head.

A few more things of note happened over the next few days. Over breakfast the next morning, Kaelie told me that she and Karen were moving out.

I also had my adult birthday that night. I didn’t have a party, just celebrated with Kate. I bought myself a new Yoshomato Evasion as a birthday present.

The day after that, Karen and Kaelie moved out. Bye girls.

And the day after that, the lead guitarist of Tainted Soul quit and I was asked to replace him. Are you kidding me? Of course I stepped up to the plate.

I had the perfect job and the perfect girlfriend. Could life get any better?

Author's Notes:

I've got some funny pictures for you. First, Matt scaring Hadley:

And next, that Christopher guy fishing in his formal wear:

Well, I thought it was funny. Anyway, so yeah, I was so glad Hadley chose a girl all by himself! Oh, and I did take  pictures of him ageing up, but do you think I can find them? They've just disappeared. But yeah, all it was was him standing in the driveway with Kate cheering.

Guess what the next chapter is? Hadley's free day! Woot! I think you know what that means ;)

Until next time,

xx Courtney

Chapter Four: The start of something new

I woke up feeling groggy and exhausted. It took me a few seconds to remember why - I’d been up all night flirting with Karen.

I sat on the edge of the bed and put my head in my hands. My life was a shambles. What with hanging out with Karen or Kaelie all the time, I’d barely had time to practice guitar or write new songs. Combine that with showing up to work late or tired, and it was no wonder my promotions were coming so slowly. At this rate, I’d never become a rock star.
I stood up. It was time to make some changes in my life, starting today. I told Karen and Kaelie - separately, of course - that I was taking a break from dating for a while to focus on my career. They were disappointed, but they understood.

Once I’d improved my job performance and got into a bit of a routine, I decided to throw a party to get to know my housemates friends, and acquaintances I’d made outside work. The party was great, Karen took care of the cooking for me and I took care of the entertainment.

After everyone left, I was on the phone all night talking to my new acquaintances.

My big break, career wise, came when I got my foot in the door of one of the hottest bands around, Tainted Soul. They were hanging backstage after a show when they heard me playing one of my new songs. To my surprise, the lead singer approached me and asked me if they could play the song at an upcoming show, and of course I agreed. When the fans loved it, they asked if I could write more songs for them. My career was back on track, and I was elated.
Looking back, the next phase of my life started shortly after this, when Karen hired a maid. Her name was Kate Pistachio, and I immediately wanted to become friends with her.

Matt was throwing a small party, and I begged him to invite her.
‘Why?’ he asked, frowning at me. ‘She’s just our maid.’
‘I think she’s really cool. C’mon, you’ll probably just end up hanging out with Xander all night anyway. Why do you care who else is there?’
Matt considered this. ‘Okay, I’ll invite her, but she might not come. I don’t think she likes me much.’
It turned out Matt was right. All his guests arrived but there was no sign of Kate. I called her.
‘Hey, where are you? The party’s started.’
‘Hadley?’
‘Who else?’
‘But - isn’t it Matt’s party?’
‘Yeah, but I told him to invite you cause I wanted to hang out with you.’
There was a pause. ‘Oh. I thought you’d be at work or something.’
‘It’s my night off. C’mon, it’ll be fun.’
In the end, Kate did come. True to my word, I hung out with her all night, except when I entertained the guests with my guitar playing. We promised to meet up again soon.

Oh, and Matt was glued to Xander all night. Lucky the guests didn’t seem to mind much!

Author’s Note:

So, I had to play ahead quite a bit to see where the story was actually going, because for a while there Hadley did absolutely nothing interesting except for throwing his party.
So, yeah, sorry that not much really happens in this chapter, it’s really just a filler chapter, showing the passing of time and setting the scene for the next one. Hope you liked it anyway!
Until next time,
